Imposter 04:23
Do you see how it goes and how it grows When the ego reigns in you You wanted to play You wanted the fame But still you never showed up The fake display The space that you crave But I call bullshit with you To envy the light: Transparent - oh, so bright But you could never deal with that Drive along, you play his songs You like ’em but still they bring you down Coleslaw lattes: you’ve seen the world How boring to know everything

I say take what you want You have showed me the darkness Stolen the light Placed a veil ‘cross the clear blue sky I called you my friend, but it’s time that you left now You’ve spoken too long with a serpent tongue Can you leave? And nothing seems bright when you’re leading the way Through this valley Children play - it’s the last I remember Fun, but then I just kept falling Falling down to the starlight realm I used to love Bring on the knives, it is time For a showdown Winter turns bright when the Wounds are all left on display To live like a beggar Who got lost in the city But chose to smile Children play - it’s the last I remember Flashing moments coming back now I could never retrieve it, and never believe How I felt then When I used to know I used to love It is bright - it is bright This time you’ll believe it Don’t go changing his mind That’s a promise? It is bright - oh, so bright You’ll never believe it, oh no There’s a change in his blood But it never was broken It is love, it is love Just have to believe it There’s a change in the ground Can you feel it?

The Present 03:37
It is a huge handicap for children Not to be in touch with the natural world And - of course - that does not only apply to children But to every human being I’d like to talk for a while About the importance of connecting with the natural world Of bringing awareness to the way in which we experience the world of nature And how important it is to Make that connection How nature can - not only keep you sane, in this almost increasingly Insane world - How connecting with nature can keep you sane, and can help you to stay presen

To The Pensieve I look into the past A sucker for a life dramatic I really wanna know Is this the way to find the truth You made me understand The trust inside a man Then you left me You left yourself And your common sense You wanted her to ease your pain Baby, I know your name To take it out on you Escaping the decaying roots I cannot even blame How you climbed into your tree And stayed there “In sickness and in health” Becomes a simple phrase to use And I didn’t realize How I loaded onto you The weight of the world You left yourself And your common sense You wanted her to ease your pain You never really choose what you loose Feel alive again Fall in love again Be in touch again But with something nice Smoking straws again Telling filthy lies Eating cereals Climbing apple trees Falling down again Be alone again In a healthy way Plant tomato seeds Be amazed again Cross an empty street Be invincible With the family Catch a bumble bee And believe

There’s so many ways You tried to get out Follow your footsteps It’s hard to believe you survived We shut it off, but you turned it up Crossing the mountains, you ran to the fiery skies Nothing’s behind you, you’re haunted by ghosts And everyone’s watching as you keep running around You’re running around. Did you ever stop to greet the past It’s trying to love you, but it’s hard when you’re just hasting along Oh, you travel so fast The rainbow’s end is in your eyes, but you’re blinded by fear And I don’t think you even see why you try to escape And become a mystery Again Let’s see this through Can you follow me? You left the spirit, saving the crust, and it’s true You carry the burden they left in you The blinding lights and patterns Are flowing through you So why are you running? you know this now The burden’s been lifted, the presence has brought a new sky You brought a new sky. To become a mystery Again

Birds With Borders Met a lot of silly folks tonight They were stoned Such a wicked fake delight They all seem to know Then they turn to me like a parody Time will truly set you free let it shine let it blossom this ain’t poetry I said will you grow Will you follow me Don’t you feel like going home And they said que sera, sera In the howling wind Met a child between the hills of lies Left to grow Never lost, but rivers in her eyes Can we go home Believe in me like I believe in you Time will truly set us free I said let i grow, let it blossom This ain’t poetry Will you come Will you follow me Is this who you wanna be And she said que sera, sera In the howling wind Believe in me like I believe in me Time will truly set us free Que sera, sera In the howling wind The lies will only make you feel better They’ll make you shine They’ll make you smile but shiver They’ll keep you blind There’s nothing left for us

Tables Turn 06:17
Still I know how it’s splendid and fragile Who would split up and break in two Never a frown when you crossed the highway Bored and lethal, you covered your eyes It’s hard to explain when you’re scared to the bone And all you want is to be alone Now, still I know And I try to explain it Oh, look -he’s being so special Now take me by the hand I’ll lead you through the land I’ll make you understand But no-one is around I wear this heavy crown The presence in our eyes The spirit in our lies It’s chilling and it’s true Now, take me by the hand I’ll lead you through the land I’ll make you understand The best I can Save me High up, where the spirit’s alive Through the dark And, I know Now take me by the hand I’ll lead you through the land I’ll make you understand The best I can But no-one is around I wear this heavy crown The presence in our eyes It’s chilling and it’s true Yes it’s true

Roots were regrown At least that’s what they told us It never felt quite true In the night To live with you To learn from you To love with you The house in the garden Broken tree To move with you To follow you To loose you Eyes facing downwards, like in shame To find all the pieces you became That’s a puzzle For the hopeless and the brave Ropes in the trees Kids in the sandbox Digging for a dream Somewhere else To live with you To learn from you To love with you I know what they told us was a lie Eyes facing downwards like in shame To find all the pieces you became Eyes facing downwards like in shame To find all the pieces you became The house in the garden Broken tree It’s a puzzle for the hopeless and the brave

about

Giant Sky II is releasing on Dec. 1st 2023, and I am using the opportunity to state the importance of both the album format, Bandcamp and the independent artist. My previous album was originally made available as a Bandcamp release only. I made a single version of one of the tracks, to which I added a voice over, informing the listeners about the malconduct of the big streaming services. For months this was the only Giant Sky track available outside the physical- and Bandcamp domain. Many of you came to my Bandcamp page because of this, and wanted to support me directly. This meant a lot, and I am very grateful to have so many loyal supporters.

The album has been a couple years in the making, and it is releasing on both vinyl, CD and digital. It is a double vinyl / double CD, with a runtime of apx 70 minutes. The vinyl edition is pressed at Record Industry in Germany, and is a gatefold 2x180g black vinyl version.

A special thanks to Marina Skanche, Vegard Bjerkan, Hans Magnus Ryan, Erlend Solli Aune, Anne Hirrich, Terje Hallan, Bent Sæter, Torgeir Lund, Rob Palmen, Liv Aastad (mom), Per Borthen, Ståle Wikdahl, Sverre Leraand, Lars Lien, Håkon Gebhardt, Rune Leraand, Håkon Dalen, Ingrid Skanke Høsøien, Bjarne Alstad, Kim Johnny Bundård, Viktor Kristensen, Espen B Nilsen and Lasse Bryggman. An additional and very special thanks to David Smith, Joe Del Tufo, Ivar Fjeld, René Westphal, Henrique Capela and Nicolas Legrand. Also a bow of gratitude to the supportive post-rock and prog community with all its dedicated music lovers. You really know how to appreciate the album format.
And to all my friends and family who I might have forgotten to mention: You know who you are. Lots of love!

This album is made possible with financial support from Trondheim Kommune. A special thanks to Hilde Østerås Berntsen and Ola B. Rise at the cultural department of Trondheim municipality. Album cover by Sanirams (Marina Skanche). Illustrations, logos and design by GIANTSKY. Additional coloring and graphic counseling: Justicia Satria.
